Richard J. Acunto founded Guardian General Insurance Services, Inc., a P&C General Agency, in 1997. Mr. Acunto holds the position of CEO and President for the Company. Mr. Acunto founded a number of affiliated companies which include: Survival Insurance Brokerage, a P&C retailer, founded in 1983; Infinity Acceptance Corporation, a premium finance company, in 1994; Guardian Claims Services LLC also in 1997; InsureSuite, Inc., an insurance related software technology company in 2000; and TRIK MEDIA, an interactive media company in 2001.
Mr. Acunto started his insurance career as a life insurance agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 1970. He went on to become a fully licensed property and casualty broker. Mr. Acunto has extensive insurance, marketing, sales, and organizational experience, his approach to the market has proved successful again and again.
Noshir M. Lakdawalla is the Chief Financial Officer for all affiliated Companies, a position he has held since 1997. Mr. Lakdawalla has over 40 years of experience in insurance, internal audits, public accounting, management consulting and financial management.
From 1994 to 1997 he was Vice President-Financial Control for the Yes Group which owned auto dealerships, appliance and furniture stores and two finance companies. In 1991, together with four others, he set up a third party administration company, which administered transactions for offshore insurance companies. In 1988, he was appointed CFO of River Oaks Group, an insurance holding company, at the request of the majority shareholder to reorganize the financial and management information systems.
James E Owen serves as Chief Information Officer for all affiliated companies. Mr. Owen is well-qualified on both technical and managerial levels, having 23 years in software development with extensive
management experience. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Owen was Vice President of Systems Development for Billing Concepts
Corporation (NASDAQ: BILL), a leader in out-sourced telecommunications billing and a provider of software for internet
service providers.
From 1992-1998, Mr. Owen was co-founder and President of Expansion Systems Corp., a developer of
software services and products, which was acquired by Billing Concepts.
Johnny Kurugian is the Vice President of Underwriting for the Company, after being recently promoted from his position as senior underwriter, a position he held since 1998. As the VP Underwriting, Mr. Kurugian's responsibilities include the development of all underwriting guidelines and procedures, the senior supervision of all underwriting, as well as product research, loss development, rate analysis and testing.
In January 1992, Mr. Kurugian was promoted to Senior Underwriter, in the Quality Assurance Division of Survival Insurance Inc. His functions included liaison with Insurance Companies and / or their General Agents, the handling of all underwriting issues as well as new program introduction and implementations into the organization, and the direct supervision of all sales Office Quality Assurance staff. John attended Cal State University as well as studying in the USSR. His prior experience includes work as an X-ray technician and six years in his own business as a Farmers Insurance Agent. He is licensed in Fire, Casualty and Life insurance.
